Dedicating a workshop

The thread about athames has got me thinking about my creative work and my workshop. As I said in the other thread, before I start any piece of turning I informally dedicate each piece of work to the Celtic god Lugh. I do this for two reasons - firstly because his day is my birthday (Lughnassa or Lammas) and secondly because he was known to be a superb craftsman - turning his hand to many crafts. I have researched him and know his story (well one version of it) and feel very drawn to him. I would like to go one step further and actually dedicate my workshop to him. Any ideas?

I know Sacred Source has a Lugh statue that you can buy unless you wanted to design and craft your own version (which I think would be great). Create a Lugh shrine in your workshop & place the statue on it & any corresponding associations from his story to link your toughts to his energies. You can make offerings of whatever herbs or incense that are related to him, especially on His (& your) day. Dedicate it in any way you prefer that raises power & puts you in contact with His special energy. Ask His blessing on your craft & to guide your hands, etc. Then give thanks & close down. Keep it dusted & masculine (i.e., not frothing with flowers & frillies). Never pass the shrine without saluting Him.

Thanks bonnie - that's exactly the sort of info I wanted.

Di,
remember to "purify" your work area by sprinkling consecrated water in all corners of the area and dedicate the area to your chosen deity by performing a dedication rite.
It sounds fantastic and I wish you well with all you do in your work area.
Blessed Be!
