Practical advice on marketing work, raising grants as well as script technique, with illustrations on tape and video. Steve Hennessy has had 12 stage plays produced in Bristol and 3 radio plays broadcast by the BBC and ATE. He also runs two small theatre companies and writes regularly for the Irish Post. Venue magazine earlier this year paid tribute to Steve's latest play Power of Speech as making him one of the most prolific (and performed) playwrights in the South West. "Not that this means his quality control dept's on lunchbreak. Both Still Life and Stairway to Heaven have been published by London- based biz mag Plays International, and his ability to create plausible characters, write subtle, slow-burning dialogue and deal with 'ishoos' without sounding like a social worker is practically unrivalled." Still Life won Venue's Best New Play 2001 award. |
